Dual Enrollment Success
Advanced Learners is an active supporter of students participating in the dual enrollment programs at SPC and HCC.
For homeschool students enrolled in either SPC or HCC classes, we offer a support class the beginning of each semester to teach students all they need to know to be successful in college classes.
We build confidence through our unique program.
A sampling of what our course offers:
Improve PERT test scores, as needed, register for classes, navigate MySPC or MyHCC,
how to take notes, how to study, how to engage in classes, how to find study groups,
how to use the library, how to use the bookstore, a campus tour, q and a with a real college professor,
field trip to campus - where to eat, study, socialize, and get help, how to use a syllabus,
how to keep notes, how to prepare for tests and projects, time management skills, choosing the best classes, how to use ratemyprofessor,
what to do when things go wrong, how to make friends, where to eat, how to ask questions in class, etc.
The support course meets once a week the first month of every new semester to insure your student is successful at college.
Beginning Spanish
This Fall we are offering Spanish through immersion classes for our younger students.
K-1st grades 9AM - 10AM on Fridays
This engaging weekly class will explore Spanish culture through activities and songs as students learn basic vocabulary, conversation skills, and greetings.
2nd-3rd grades 10AM - 11AM on Fridays
Students will gain an appreciation for the Spanish language as they learn speaking, reading, and writing skills along the way. This fun and exciting class will combine activities with music for lively learning!
